I ordered Colin Brown's comics on the basis of Ros Garbles' & the late Ian Herring's enthusiastic reviews of Reverberations in ZUM! #9.
Issue 3 of Joe Beach tells the tale of Joe the young father and house-husband; proposing to have his son christened, as concession to growing familial pressure towards conventionality, from partner Mary.
Colin Brown's highly elegant comic art doesn't always sit comfortably with the prosaic realism he is creating; but has superbly designed panels & page units alone will ensure Joe Beach emerges as another success story from the 90's era of self-published comics in Britain.
