Konky Kru is a delightful, stupid, surreal bag o' fun that at times is reminiscent of Ralph Kidson's Captian Dolphin. This, of course, is no bad thing. Each strip is two pages of wackiness with the faceless, blob-like, strangely loveable Kru. No dialogue, just mime like surreal comedy with (for the most part) an unexpected punch line at the end.
Andy has a likeable, open style that allows him to do just about anything and get away with it but - my perennial bugbear with the small press - the inking - is flat and has no line depth at all. The Kru cry out for Andy to get a brush - go mad - make these characters leap out of the page. If he does that, and maybe tightens up his drawings of objects, I could see The Kru on a national platform. This strip has that kind of potential, and would work for a much wider audience. But watch out for this guy, he's gonna get better...
