(THE PHENOMENAL) PSYCHOSENSE (#'s 8 & 9)
...are phenomenal!!! It's so many of the best things that the small-Press can be...
It's cheap... (but - addictive!)
It's badly printed... (but addictive!)
It's fast + funny... (but addictive!)
It's very stylish...
...in a sort of 17 year old's minimilist-take-on-manga, sort of way! (+addictive)
Psychosense#8: diy dtp The characters, are soooo-cute, you want to draw them yourself!! (I even wrote off begging Jessica to let me illustrate a strip! saddo!)
The scripts are lightweight but funny! You instantly feel charmed + engulfed in delicious "fun- mallow"!!!!
Then in issue 8... the tasty Andi (Skeleton-Key) Watson, pops up with a Psychosense - poster! (+ I'm in heaven!)
Some other lucky bastards get to draw some of Jessica's strips... grrrr!
But the comic is at it's shimmering, stylish, ephemeral, badly printed best when Jessica's doing the writing and the drawing.
In spirit-Psycosense is Hello-Kitty crossed with Gen 13... only better!! (But without the glossy paper, full colour, merchandises, corporate advertising. Etc.)
..."Drop that thing! It's the Potato-King"!!!...
If only Jessica was a 16 year old Japanese girl producing this in her fluffy pink bedroom!...
...I'd be in love!!! sigh!

Clive Scruton.
