Reviews of previous editions in ZUM! #10

If you've never read this series before then, as the creators admit, this is probably isn't a good place to start. Nevertheless this really is a fun comic, due to the warmth of the characters (without getting over cute) and the numerous pop-culture style gags floating around. This issue sees the main characters (Earthling) Jo Dribble and (alien ruler) Panda putting on Shakespeare's The Tempest to confuse a stray astronaut from Earth; time travel exploits so that Panda can get a shag; the wonderful diversions that are the short interludes featuring the 'little happy creatures' (despite looking like comedy condoms their dialogue, once translated, is...   really dull), and a host of other top side-show characters.
Like I said the best to start with the collected editions to make the most of this. It has to be said that despite waiting for #9 to appear, I'm none the wiser as to what the cliff-hanger ending of #8 was about.
If I can't entice you with what I've said, then you should but this purely so you can put Chips for Life back cover pin-up on your wall.
