This comic suffers from the inevitable jitters in narrative flow that besets a comic that comprises of tier cartoon strips (4 panel gags) pasted into a larger (A4) format. There are 4 strips per page, each tier having it's own contained gag. That said, the narrative flow in the wider context does hold up quite well. There's a refreshing lack of the lame brain repetitive reiteration you get from dullards in this field who milk a single gag over as many 'tiers' as possible for all it's worth.
Ugonna Nwosu's story arc here stretches from the eponymous little hero's parents foolishly planting the idea of a 'teenage house party' into his head as they go away for the weekend to it's fallout, with all the foolish desperation of the setting up & actual event in between. The gags are for the most part good ones, involving a lot of human frailty as their crutch, (a good subject). I am an especially harsh taskmaster when judging such things, so, whereas this did not actually make me laugh, it may manage a chuckle with you. It did do enough to amuse me.
Ugonna's cartooning is pretty slick. The style has a slight 'graffiti' edge behind it, which is pleasant to the eye. The penmanship itself looks to still be striving for that 'ultimate line' & he may have a bit of road to travel before he gets there. It is one of those hard journeys that are only reached through working & working. It will be fun to see his work when he actually attains this Obi-Wan-Kinobi status (heh).
He's confident with people & their action & articulation, but backgrounds are weaker. This is often a limitation of the format chosen, but still, a little more imagination other than the same camera angles may also be of dividend.
All in all something I am looking forward to see develop.
