Having read this comic, straight through, on the train, laughing out loud all the way I can only say I'm utterly furious. Why isn't Lucy Sweet rich and famous? Why didn't I grow up reading comics like this? Why are 'the kids' lapping up Harry Potter when they could be passing around sweaty and thumbed copies of Unskinny (each issue should come with a Lambert and Butler and a Cadbury's Caramac sellotaped to the front cover, just like Smash Hits)?
Lucy Sweet is loud and clever; her comic is rude, irreverent and fantastic. In this issue, Ewan McGregor stars in Mothspotting, there's a handy guide to Giro Chic, Culinary Shite and Beauty Tips (Look shite? So what ...)
The art work fits her caustic tone perfectly and you get the idea that Lucy Sweet got her artistic training defacing pictures of Denise Van Outen in 'TV Quick'.
Before I run out of superlatives, Lucy Sweet I want to have your (surrogate) babies!
